Highlights
My
home for the next four months is a lovely boarding house on Herrenhäuser
Str., Hannover. It's a pretty sweet deal. For a bit more than DM200, I
get room and board, bed linens, access to a washing machine and dryer,
a shared kitchen, washroom and shower, and crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils
and pots.
Overall,
I give it a final grade of A. |
There
are nine of us in the boarding house altogether: me, my roommate Kitty
who is also from UBC, and two other girls on our floor, Annika (who is
VERY nice) and Claudia (who I don't see that often, but seems nice too);
four guys upstairs (I haven't met any of them yet, so I don't know if they're
good-looking, sorry girls); and Stefanie, the landlady's daughter on the
third floor.
Our
house is about 15 minutes from where we work (Laser
Zentrum Hannover e.V.), and another 15-20 minutes from downtown. It
is also only two tram stops from the world-famous Herrenhäuser Garten,
home of the biggest fountain in Europe (insert Freud commentary here) and
a really nice landscaped garden that used to belong to some royal family
or something. I need to brush up on my German history...by reading my Let's
Go Germany.
